The power of prayer...

With every answered prayer, I am more amazed at the power of my words. I know that I shouldn't be surprised that my Father hears my every thought and knows the desires of my heart, but I am just blown away when I ask for something, stand on the Word, and DONE! It's not that I don't believe that it's going to happen; when God says that He's gonna do something, I believe in the fact that His Word is truth and it's gonna happen. I guess I am just amazed that I have a Saviour that loves me so much that even when I ask for something small and trivial to others, He hears me and answers me!
With our placenta previa, the midwives and doctors didn't think that it would resolve and pretty much told me that I was going to end up with a c-section. All I had to do was pray, believe and then stand on my faith, and I really didn't even have to address it again! I just thanked Him that it was resolved. And as we found out on Tues, it's resolved!
When I think about prayer, the song by Rodney Atkins comes to mind. A little boy prays, and the dad says he "prayed like he was talking to a friend." Shouldn't we all pray like that? I don't think that God wants us to come to Him all "Holy art Thou calloused hands..." and all the stuck up prayer language that some use. I believe that He loves for us to come to Him and talk to Him like we talk to our best friends. Why is it that we can spend hours talking on the phone to our friends and we spend just two minutes in prayer? Shouldn't we spend just as much time talking to Him? He knows us better than anyone else will ever know us. He is our Best Friend. And much more.
Thank you, Lord, for being my Best Friend and listening to everything that I have to say. And for every answered prayer, no matter how small. I love you, and I hope you have a great day.
